Okay…okay! I’ll admit it. Despite what you see on Instagram, I am not always happy. There. I said it.
And in times like these–with the people of Ukraine suffering in the most dire and frightening of circumstances–all I want to do is cry. But instead I smile. Because that’s what you do on social media.
I want to be supportive and like my friends’ photos and write nice and happy and loving things. But all I want to do is cry.
I want my profile to represent the best of what I am. But all I want to do is cry.
And then…
Then I wonder…
Do all these other smiley faces just want to cry, too? Are their hearts and souls breaking for Ukraine?
Or is this just another day?
As the world tumbles into darkness and hatred and violence, is it just another day?
Does everyone want to curl up in a ball and just cry and pray? Or is it just me…?
